Padel in Slovenia — What to Check Before Planning

Padel has been played in Slovenia in recent years as well. This guide sums up what matters when planning a court: the site, technical preparation, the model and the scope of supply.

Premidel is an authorized distributor of MejorSet padel courts, and we prepare offers for projects in Slovenia in Slovenian.

General growth of the sport says nothing about demand at a particular site. We cover the global figures from the Global Padel Report 2026, and what they mean for clubs and investors, in our article Padel Growth — What It Means for Court Projects.

Demand at the Site

Before investing, check existing padel facilities nearby, how busy they are at peak times and which target group the site reaches. General market indicators do not replace that check.

Ljubljana

In Ljubljana, too, the decision starts with the site: how accessible it is, which target groups it reaches and which padel facilities already exist nearby. For existing sports facilities and clubs, it also matters whether the available areas, access and connections are suitable for one or more courts.

Maribor and Other Cities

Maribor is Slovenia’s second-largest city; demand for padel there should also be checked for the specific site. The same applies to other cities. A court at an existing sports centre, hotel or business park may address a different target group from a stand-alone padel centre.

Choosing the Site and Technical Preparation

When choosing a site, check its accessibility, existing padel facilities nearby and the target group the location reaches. For the technical preparation:

  • Area: according to the MejorSet outdoor foundations guideline, the slab for one standard double court must measure at least 11 × 21 m.
  • Base: the investor prepares a level concrete or asphalt base locally, to our technical specifications. If the slab does not meet the specification, the manufacturer may refuse installation.
  • Drainage and connections: drainage and power connections, including power for the lighting, are also prepared by the investor.
  • Existing surfaces: we do not confirm installation without a conventional concrete slab, for example on an existing sports court, in advance. We check feasibility and anchoring with the manufacturer for the specific site.

Our guide to buying and building padel courts covers technical preparation and the scope of supply. Check the permit procedure in Slovenia with the competent Slovenian authorities before ordering and before any work on the base.

Choosing the Model

Depending on use and visibility, Slovenian investors can choose between several models:

FIP and Competitions

MejorSet is the official court of the International Padel Federation (FIP), and the FIP Official Court is a limited edition made in collaboration with FIP. Models such as the Panoramic RC-10 are also built to the specifications of the International Padel Federation. If you plan to host competitions, choose the lighting to suit the level of play as well.

Climate, Lighting and Equipment

An outdoor court depends on the weather, while a court covering or an indoor hall allows year-round use. If a covering is planned, take it into account when planning the foundations and anchoring. Our article on indoor vs outdoor padel courts compares the options in detail.

Lighting is part of the court configuration and is chosen by level of play, not by wattage alone. The standard configuration is sufficient for recreation and training, while higher-level competitions need stronger lighting.

Alongside courts, Premidel supplies equipment in three categories: Vending Sport machines, Smart Padel automation and court coverings. Smart Padel provides PIN, RFID or Bluetooth access, automatic lighting control and a connection to booking systems. For indoor halls and sites near housing, a 12 mm tempered laminated glass kit is available to reduce noise.

From Enquiry to Installation

  1. Enquiry: send us the location, the available dimensions, photos of the existing surface, the number of courts you want and the intended use.
  2. Offer: we propose a model and configuration and prepare an individual offer in Slovenian. We send the exact technical requirements for the base and connections on request.
  3. Permits and preparation: check the permit procedure with the competent authorities, then prepare the base, drainage and connections locally to our technical specifications.
  4. Production and transport: MejorSet manufactures the courts in Crevillente (Alicante, Spain), from where they are shipped to the site. Delivery takes about 33 days from order confirmation, including transport.
  5. Installation: once the base is ready, specialised installation teams assemble the court on site in about 3 days.

The standard offer includes the court, transport from Spain and installation. The investor prepares the base, drainage and local connections, including power for the lighting. We only install courts that we have supplied. Like any court, a MejorSet court needs regular maintenance, including the structural polymer joints that hold the glass.
